Projects Completed :

a. Project Leader for project DOR 108 entitled ‘Collection, evaluation, characterization and utilization of non – traditional oilseed crops’ from 1994 to 2002.
b. Co-CCPI for safflower germplasm activities under project on ‘Sustainable management of Plant Biodiversity’ in the mission mode under NATP’ from 2001 to 2004.
c. Principal Investigator for DOR centre for ‘Adhoc Network Project on Tree Borne Oilseeds’ as from April 2005 to June 2008

On-going Projects :

• Principal Investigator for project DOR 102-1 entitled ‘Collection, evaluation, maintenance, characterisation and utilization of safflower germplasm’ since 2001.
• Nodal Officer for DUS testing for DOR under the Central Sector Scheme for ‘Implementation of legislation on Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Protection’ since 2001.

Trainings Undertaken (National & International)


• Training programme on ‘Plant genetic resources and seeds: policies, conservation and use’ organised by Wageningen International and the Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands in cooperation with the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation at Chennai and Jeypore from 5 – 23 October, 2009.
• International Training program on ‘Plant Variety Protection and DUS Testing for Indian Experts’ at National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB), Cambridge, U.K. from 28th June to 9th July, 2010 under the HRD program of the ICAR National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP).
• Training programme on ‘Data analysis using SAS’ at National Academy for Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 17-23 August, 2011.

Awards

Second Best Poster Award for the poster on ‘Collection and identification of potential tree borne oilseeds germplasm in Andhra Pradesh’ presented at National Symposium on ‘Vegetable Oils Scenario : Approaches to meet the growing demands’ organized by Indian Society of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad from January 29-31, 2009.
• Third Best Poster certificate was received for the poster on ‘Variability for essential DUS characteristics in released varieties and hybrids of castor, Ricinus communis L.’ by N. Mukta, C. Lavanya and A.
