Area of Research

Presently working on biopolymeric films, coacervation technique, nanocarriers, nanoparticles, nanocomposites, lignin materials, bioformulations designing, characterization and evaluation for various applications in agriculture and industrial areas.

Area of expertise

Throughout my research career, I have synthesized potential polymeric films designed to manage biotic and abiotic stresses in various pulse and oilseed crops. These films serve as carriers for bioagents, chemicals, nutrients, and are currently being evaluated under field conditions. I possess extensive experience in synthesizing and characterizing different types of crosslinked hydrophilic superabsorbent and superporous hydrogels, encapsulation techniques, nanocarriers, nanonutrients, and polymeric films for crop protection inputs. My expertise includes creating various compositions and combinations of biopolymeric films, evaluating their effectiveness in seed health, and developing these films as carriers for microbial bioagents with diverse release patterns, such as fast and controlled release. I have also developed various formulations, including water-dispersible granules (WDG) and suspension concentrates (SC) for Bacillus thuringiensis. Additionally, I have experience in handling and developing various polymers for seed enhancements. I provide training on seed coating and seed pelleting using existing materials, bioagents, and chemicals at agri-business incubators for new startups. My technical skills include operating a wide range of instruments such as gas-liquid chromatography (GLC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), UV spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron microscopes (scanning and transmission), elemental analyzers, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), other chromatography and spectroscopic instruments (HPTLC, TLC, column, preparative, GC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Kjeldahl apparatus, flame photometer, atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), dynamic light scattering (DLS) for nanoparticles and zeta potential analysis, rheometer, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
